Rubbish & recycling
Household waste
- Don’t throw out hazardous items.
- Flatten cardboard boxes before recycling them.
- Don’t recycle cardboard that is wet or covered with food or sticky tape.
- If you bag your recycling, empty the bag out. Plastic bags can’t be recycled.
Hard rubbish
Do not leave large items in the bin room. Removal costs will be passed on to the owners.
If you see hard rubbish in the bin room, please report it to OC.
The building has an annual hard rubbish collection around May/June. Flyers will be posted with dates and instructions.
Other hard rubbish collection must be arranged privately. Contact OC if you need assistance with this.
Batteries and electronics
Batteries in the trash are a fire hazard. Don’t put batteries in the normal trash. This includes items that have a built-in rechargeable battery.
You can dispose of small batteries and e-waste at:
- ALDI (across Plenty Rd) for smaller batteries.
- Officeworks and Harvey Norman (on Bell St) for power banks and general e-waste.
- Banyule Waste Recovery Center for larger items not accepted by the above.
